I am so sorry that I didn’t have anything new yesterday. When Matt asked me why not, I said we didn’t really do anything to note. However, I was wrong… The bus was taking Matt 40 min. to get to and from work when it is only 5 miles away. So we rented a car!
It is so strange not only sitting on the opposite side of the car, but driving on the opposite side of the road completely! So far we have only driven to and from work, but we are going to test our skills this weekend as we drive across Brittan to Bath and Stonehenge.
Oh yea, we also went grocery shopping for the first time. The grocery store is about ½ a mile away. It is actually very refreshing to walk to and from getting groceries. We found ourselves only buying the necessities since we would have to walk ½ a mile with it.
As for today, I was reminded why I don’t want to be a house wife. I can’t even figure out their washing machine/dryer!! I heard it running for about 3 hours, so I figured it was done. Matt came home and the detergent was still in the compartment I put it in and the clothes were still wet… I also purchased a voltage converter so that I can finally use my blow dryer/straightner, it worked for about 2 minutes and nothing! Looks like I’m just going to have to break down and buy a UK hair dryer.
BTW... It looks like Matt’s company has already realized that we are going to have to stay for three months. Hopefully we will be able to get in a couple of extra weekend trips!
